I picked up my new glasses today and I'm very excited. Have I mentioned that I'm easily entertained? My old frames served me well...for seven or eight years, in fact, but it's time to move on.Speaking of moving on, I gave my notice at work on Friday. I'm going to keep working for another eight weeks, but since I have the luxury of time, I felt it was only fair to give HR some time to find my replacement. I asked my boss not to spread the news until it was closer to my last day, so it's still a bit of a secret. I feel relieved though. It's nice to have the air clear and it's one step closer to where I want to be: in school studying architecture.
I'll still be working, of course. Something has gotta put food on the table. I was awarded work study and I have a phone interview on Wednesday for an office assistant position at the Office of Institutional Advancement. It would involve general office duties and I would get to work with Alumni Relations, Mies van der Rohe Society and other development divisions that benefit IIT. In addition to work study, I may continue to work at the agency, doing occasional freelance work.
The loans are daunting, but I truly feel that it will all work out.
