washing the stress away

What a week this has been. Pretty busy and insane you could say. I got about 40minutes of sleep on Wednesday night and none on Thursday because I was working on finishing my agriculture center. On top of that, I had to reprint some work from last semester to pin up for a scholarship jury that was taking place on Friday morning. I was nominated by the studio faculty for four scholarships and I'll find out in about a month whether I won or not. The suspense!

Despite not having slept, I really wanted to spend time with Jared last night, since I hadn't gotten to see him this week. Well, I started crashing about 30minutes after I sat down at his place. I thought I might take a 30- or 45-minute nap and then feel well enough to last until a normal bedtime. So I asked him to wake me up at 8pm even though he thought I should just sleep. Well, he tried to wake me up, but I guess I wouldn't have any of that...and I don't even remember him trying to wake me up, or him coming to bed later. This morning he said that he tried to ask me whether I needed the alarm set (because I had an appointment this morning) and I said no. Don't remember that either. I guess my body was speaking for me because I certainly wasn't fully conscious.

I made it to my appointment, a hair cut, on time though. I grabbed a chai and blueberry muffin on the way there. Today is cold and rainy in Chicago, but the chai made me feel warm and happy right away. The hair cut was a treat too. I love getting my hair washed and getting a scalp massage--so nice and relaxing. From there, I decided to walk home even though it was still raining and the walk was more than a mile. It's just nice to be outside after spending a great deal of time in studio. Ahh, feeling more relaxed.
