official arch business

The end of the week marked the start of a new job for me. My first official job in architecture! I'm pretty excited about it all. I spent most of the day fighting with several floor plans for a renovation of a historic building in Lincoln Park. Half of it had to do with my experience in AutoCAD 2008--not in AutoCAD 2004. I kept thinking, "wait, there should be a button right there that will solve my problem and do what I want it to do!" I ended up feeling bad that I was taking so long on the drawings (or at least that's how I felt), so I ate my lunch at my computer even though my boss left for lunch and told me that I could take an hour break. I also worked about an hour late, but it was worth it.

After work, I went home, where I cooked up dinner for Moni and I. She brought some wine and we talked, and ate, and talked, and ate everything left on the table. Total food coma set in. I plan to finish the night of gluttony off by sleeping in on my birthday, tomorrow.
