Friday night was a movie night. We saw "Ironman," which aside from a few slightly gross scenes, I really liked. The sets and special effects were pretty amazing. While I'd love to be able to fly, I can't imagine soaring around the sky with so little protection...and so much metal weighing me down. I'll leave that to the sci-fi world to worry about. On Saturday, we saw "The Mark of Zorro" at Lifeline Theatre in Rogers Park. I thought it would be hokey since action stories don't generally translate well in a play format, but they did a nice job. Especially considering that the Lifeline Theatre operates on a relatively small budget. The play has gotten good reviews, leading to a two-month extension of the run. We went to a 4PM show, so we were hungry by the time intermission came around. Good thing there's a dive, hot dog place around the corner. A hot dog and fries for $2.50. Who would have thought such a thing still existed?
