walking the city

Yesterday was one of those days for a long walk. The weather was warm, but there was a slight breeze, which made it bearable. Last summer, we walked north for several miles on Clark one day and on Broadway another. This time we headed northwest on Lincoln Ave all the way to the edge of the city, stopping once in Lincoln Square for iced coffee, and later headed a bit west on Irving Park so we could try out Dharma Garden Thai. We had Pad Se Ewe and a Garlic and Onion dish, both with imitation/satee chicken. Both entrees were excellent and the ingredients were really fresh. Our waitress was nice, but worse than an Italian mother in terms of her pushiness. We couldn't get out of her requests to try their fresh juices, so Jared got coconut juice, which came in a hollowed-out coconut and I got mango juice. My ankles are a little sore today. I was wearing flip-flops, which aren't exactly great for your feet, so I'm sure I'm to blame. I felt worn down by the time we got home yesterday evening, but it was a really nice feeling.
